Greetings from Oriole Nation! I am privileged to serve as Principal of Bessie Allen Middle School - BAMS (grades 6-8). This will be my 8th year in this role for the School District of North Fond du Lac.
I am dedicated to providing students with a wide range of opportunities to develop experiences that will enable them to be Life, College, and Career Ready. I have been married for 9 years to my wife Stephanie, and we have a son (Ray) who is a high school senior.
Together as a family, we enjoy hobbies such as traveling, hiking, movie-watching, photography, volunteering, and reading. I am fluent in Spanish. I particularly enjoy watching/attending sporting events/concerts, playing board games, and keeping up with current events across the world. We also have an adorable puggle named Rocky.
Professionally, I have earned three degrees (BA in General Business - Michigan State; MS in Social Studies Education - Florida International; MS in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis - UW Madison). After three years employed in the business world, I began my career in education at Kinloch Park Middle School (Miami, Florida) as a 7th grade Civics instructor. For six years thereafter, I was a high school Social Studies teacher at La Follette High School (Madison, WI). Prior to arriving in North Fond du Lac, I was an Assistant Principal at Fond du Lac High School for six years and Head Principal of Gordon Olson Middle School in Mauston, WI for three years.
Feel free to contact me at mgonzalez@nfdlschools.org or call the BAMS office to schedule an appointment for an in-person meeting.
